In Spring of 2011, CWA will broke ground on a terminal renovation and expansion aimed at increasing operational space, expanding the security check-point, relocating car rentals to their own facility and expanding current parking facilities. The project is estimated at $25 million and will be completed in a three-year process.

CWA was recently awarded a $250,000 Small Community Air Service Development Program grant by the U.S. Department of Transportation that it will use to pursue new air service with a fourth carrier and improve and/or expand current air service with existing carriers. Central Wisconsin Airport was one of 19 recipients from an applicant pool of 74 awarded the grant, and is the only airport representing Wisconsin among the recipients.
